Eat a fruit based low fat raw vegan diet. Eat lots of sweet, ripe, raw, fresh, whole fruits. It’s impossible to overeat fruit. Most of the raw ‘gurus’ are leaving because they are afraid of fruit. rawvegan.com, foodnsport.com, rogerhaeske.com and 30bananasaday.com are great resources.
first, make sure you read some of the raw staples like raw food family by the boutenkos and becoming younger by norman walker. understanding exactly why raw food is good for you will help to motivate you.
second, find some community. it is very hard to be a lone raw foodist. check out youtube shows like the raw food world tv show and the renegade health show. look up local raw food potlucks and restaurants in your area if there are any. also, goneraw.com has a huge, super sweet community with recipes and a big forum to talk about all things raw.
third, get some solid, easy recipes. i would recommend avoiding those high gourmet cookbooks because it is time consuming and hard to keep up with. ani phyo is a good book to start with because her recipes are simple, filling, and fast.
most importantly, take it slow and don’t fall into the dogmatism of the 100% raw. listen to your body and do what works for you at this point in your life. good luck on your journey!
There are some great cookbooks for raw-foods diets. I suggest just buying a couple of the cookbooks and start experimenting. Find some recipes you really like and start planing balanced, healthy meals.
