R&P: I am now a vegetarian?
Question:
I decided today that I would become a vegetarian because after watching videos (such as the link below) I now realize the cruelty people give animals just so they can eat them and have their fur. And I do think it is a proud decision and I hope to find my way into it.
BQ: Dedicate a song to the animals that die every year for them to be to eaten and have their fur taken from them.
BQ2: Dedicate a song to the awful people who take pride in killing the animals.
BQ3: Are you a vegetarian/vegan?

BQ3: yes, vegetarian since 11/5/08 =) (the first few months might be hard though) and before that i was vegetarian for 2 years but shortly stopped for about a month=/
i cant watch it cause animal cruelty pisses me off and makes me sad=/
*edit* oh and f*ck you guys who say stupid things like “i couldnt give up eating steak for an animals sake” or whatever or “yes poor little animals, ignore the fact humans suffer” etc. Oh and the statement “animals are meant to be eaten” or “they are made out of meat and supposed to be eaten.” thats a bunch of sh*t we are made of meat too. ill stop here. like i said before i get pissed about animal cruelty.

Ah, yes let’s cry for the little poor animals…and ignore the fact that there are human beings, babies at that matter, dying everyday out of poverty.
I have nothing against vegetarians or vegans, in fact I don’t even enjoy eating meat much myself. [I don't eat pork, seafood, hate eggs, milk, yogurt...] But, I would never give up the taste of juicy steak for the sake of some animal. Meat is meant to be eaten.
And as much as I love Morrissey, I don’t think I can ever be moved by “Meat is Murder” lyrics. And if I were ever to become a vegetarian, it would not be because of my love for animals but rather for health and taste reasons.

That’s great. You’ve been a better person than me for, oh, what, about an hour? It’s one thing to proclaim you’re a vegetarian, it’s another to actually follow through on it. I’ll give you a hearty “congrats” in a year if you’re sticking with it.

I couldn’t watch that. Those type of videos are too sad for me. Animal cruelty is the one thing that just gets to me.

I’m not going to watch the video either. I believe I already have enough sadness and cruelty in my consciousness. But if it helped raise yours, well good.
I do happen to be a vegetarian, but… while I choose not to eat meat, I’m not too concerned with those who do. I would rather lead by example than try to shame someone into doing (or not doing) something.

BA2: you sound pretty biased on that issue, i have my own views on people who hunt, im friends with a lot of them and i just came here to say that your choice is cool and congratulations. dont force your views on me.
i wont tolerate any form of animal abuse, i fucking hate those people like no other and i go out of my way to help animals who’ve been abused, like my dog Frankie, but not everyone who takes pride in hunting is a horrible person and you should stop believing everything you see in propaganda like that the stuff PETA hands out.
not that i agree with how they run factories producing meat at all its cruel and horrible, but the individual hunter is not to blame.

i have to tell you right off the bat that i cannot watch that video. i have a problem reguarding my ocd and 6 anxiety disorders in general.. basically i feel guilty about things that are out of my control and i love animals more then most and seeing them harmed or in any kind of dismay breaks my heart into 2 peices and i just want to help them. so i plan on it.
i eat fish, chickenn turkey and … i do not eat red meat or pork. i eat a ton more fruits and vegetables then i do meat or animal products.
to aweful people that are cruel IN ANY WAY to animals i dedicate a song called i am going to fucking murder you and watch you die a slow painful death. written by vicky.

good for you. i have been a vegetarian for about 2 years now and it is really been a great choice for me.
@leprosy- very cool. i’ve known a couple other people who only ate the game that they themselves killed also. kudos for not supporting factory farm meat.
@i spit upon your grave- if you actually care about starving humans you would do well to consider that it takes about 10 times the land to produce the same amount of nutrition when you use that land to feed cattle vs using it to feed yourself, and something like 100 times the water. vegetarianism is as much a movement about helping humans and conserving resources as it is about helping animals.

Wow, way to shove your vegitarianism down someone’s throat. I am an OMNIVORE but I have 6 dogs and 4 cats. I love my animals. I will not watch the video or jump on that band wagon. Sorry.
