From a Christian Perspective, Christs crucifixion eliminated the need for animal sacrifice. People do it nowadays because they think they bribe God. Its also fashionable among “rebellious youth” (if you will…) to do things that ‘shock’.
Killing animals to kiss the ass of something there is no tangible objective proof of is akin to mental masturbation.
It is a self-deceptive desperate cry to get something for nothing or gain control over others.

I think religious organizations are cults and NO they should NOT be allowed to sacrifice anything. Religion….don’t get me started on those hypocritical brainwashing cults.

I would say why not? In the grand scheme of things it’s a small amount of animals and animals are legally killed through hunting, farming and food processing regularly. It seems looney tunes to me, but no more loony than many of the customs of the major, well established religions. Considering the money spent on the legal battle it seems foolish. Wherever he’s buying his animals from, they are most likely going to end up on someones table if he doesn’t sacrifice them anyways.

I don’t have a problem if it is limited to farm animals.
Doesn’t make much difference to me if they are killed for food or killed for religion.
Bah… it’s legal to hunt, and hunters that miss a kill shot and only wound the animal aren’t considered cruel.

The right to religious freedom does not override any other laws, like say… animal cruelty.
If he gets to sacrifice a goat.. or chicken, I didn’t read the link, then why can’t Satanists sacrifice people? Why can’t Rastafarians smoke dope legally, as that is supposed to be part of the religion?
Another crackpot demaning his “rights”, about which he knows nothing.

I don’t really see why not… but it seems like a waste of animals.
