Question:
Animals have the same desires and feelings as humans. They desire a mate, a family, food, shelter and to live free and happy. So why do people think they have the right to take away this freedom from animals? Murder is considered sin because we don’t have the right to take the lives of others, yet we do this to animals every day without any guilt or consideration.

tried asking in the philosophy section, but I was hoping to see what other veggies and vegans think.
WHAT IS WITH THE RUDE RESPONSES! I am asking a legitimate ethical and philosphical question. I do not appricate being called dumb Cypher! I bet I am smarter than YOU! I study law and environmetal engineering. What do *you* do? Nothing I bet. Don’t answer if you are going to be rude!
You to Diliya, my question is NOT nonsense, I am not arrogant, ignorant, or close minded. I asked the question because I wanted to know what other thought. If any one here is close minded and ignorant that would be you.
Thank you lo_mcg that was a brilliant answer well reasoned and logical. Thanks.

Question:
It seems from what I have read here about the additude of some vegans that they dislike anything that hurts poor Bambi. do they think we should kill all of the tigers in thew world, all of the lions, eagles, grizzly bears, snakes, wolves, Hunters, any animal who kills to eat, Are plants lifeless? are they less than any of the Creators other, did he not create them as well, if so is it not just as wrong to kill them to eat,? Does not God in the bible demand the sacrifice od the flesh of animals. are all vegans atheists by their credo and philosophies, do they think that they are wiser than God, who created us??? Hunting serves a valuable service to nature and the balance of life. Too many people who don’t know we are hunter gatherers
Question:
I read this article today, in which a priest is fighting for his “right” to sacrifice animals for religious reasons. Should this be allowed?

http://www.examiner.com/x-18166-Arlington-Vegan-Examiner~y2009m8d17-Is-animal-sacrifice-a-religious-right

*I submitted this a few moments ago in the Religion & Philosophy category, but I’m not really getting useful answers.
The reason it is illegal now is primarily because the way the animals are killed are considered “animal cruelty” by most standards.

A | VENG | ING AN | I | MALS, (avenjhing ænemalz); I. humanlike animals, not bearing any longer the way mankind – the “pride of creation” – abuses its power to profit of the exploitation, suffering and unnecessary killing of living creatures. II. vegan clothing (sweatshop-free), vegan accessories and vegan specials of 100% compassionate production. III. a vegan brand reflecting, the intended provocation of “unhuman animals” and celebrating the vegan lifestyle.
