Question:
I just want to know anything about being vegan and the things you eat, what you beleive in about being vegan and just anything about the overall lifestyle.

People are HELL. Oh and I forgot to mention that even at my wedding, people made stupid remarks about the food. Sigh. Yes, that is how rude people can be.

Just Kidding! You can be a cheap vegan or an extravagant vegan… it’s completely up to you! (Hey, it’s sort of like how you can use those sharp “canine” teeth to tear through dead animal flesh or you can use them to tear through tempeh, seitan, tofu, or taro root.) Here are some tips for how to save money when buying vegan foods: 1. Avoid the processed foods. They are often more expensive, not only at the register, but also because of the cost to your health. 2. Buy in season. Fruits and veggies grown in season will usually be cheaper because the supply is larger. Buy extra and freeze some of them! 3. Learn to cook. This will save you money and also save you future health hassles. 4. Don’t worry about the meat substitutes. Get your protein from unprocessed foods like rice and beans, nuts, and other plants. In fact, you don’t even need to worry much about protein unless you’re an athlete or you have a special medical condition. Just eat enough plants and you’re virtually certain to get enough protein. 5. Learn about nutrition so the labels don’t fool you. A label that reads “fat free” isn’t always really free of fat, but it’s probably more expensive than a similar product without the special label. Learn about what to look for and how to shop.
