Question:
To whom it may concern:
I gave up eating meat in May 2009 but have been finding it very hard to stick to it recently. I eat a lot of meat substitutions and veggie’s but for some reason it’s just not fulfilling enough and I am not sure why. I’ve never taken vitamins before and was told that I should. I’m not sure if I should be taking a multivitamin or just specific vitamins that I feel I am not getting enough of through the foods that I am eating. I felt faint one day and when I went into a near by dinner, I ordered a burger and ate it without even thinking. I realized soon after, that I actually felt a lot better. Then I went online a few days later and saw some horrible photo’s of animal abuse via PETA. I almost threw up.
I guess what I would like to know is if eating organic meat is better than eating regular, store bought meat? I don’t have a problem with eating meat because I feel that everything eats something in this world. It’s the circle of life…but i don’t agree with abuse of animals, etc. It really upsets me. This is the reason why I went vegetarian/vegan (I don’t eat dairy EVER).
Please don’t post to this question with rude comments or criticism about eating meat. That’s not what I need. I understand that eating vegetarian is probably better, but i think each person’s body is different. Some people just need it and others can do without. It’s like how some people have allergies to certain foods so they have to stay away from them, and other people don’t have any allergies so they can eat whatever they want. Everyone’s body is different.
I would just like to know if eating organic is better and where could I purchase organic meat? I’d like to at least know that if I’m eating organic, these animals have had a better life than those who are raised in farms with horrible conditions and are abused or tortured.
Thanks, in advance, for taking the time to address my question!
