Question:
I have found many recipes that call for sugar but I can not have sugar other than natural sugars found in foods.

Question:
My best friend, a current pescetarian and aspiring vegan, has very non-supportive family members. I’ve been friends with her at school for a few years, but have only known her family for the past few months.
Evidently, her parents think I am a “bad influence” and that if she tries to become vegan, her parents will not let her see me any more. Since when is eating healthfully a bad influence? I’m not trying to sell her drugs or something. In my opinion, my eating habits should not be a factor in deciding whether or not we should be friends. If I ate only fast food would this still be a deciding factor in whether or not she could be friends with me?
Even my family, all omnivorous, have a problem with this and think it is quite outrageous.
Has anyone else had a problem like this? I’ve never run into something like this before. Until now, I thought her family was very kind and understanding; I’ve made vegan meals at their house a few times and they liked it (or at least said they did). Any ideas with how to speak to her parents about this, or if I even should?

Question:
I recently decided to become vegan, and have had a LOT of naysayers and resistance from friends. They keep saying things like, “Oh, you can’t use makeup, antibiotics and medications, tape, plant and pet food, nail files, hair care, lotions, paintings, the new furniture you buy, rubber bands, and shoes, antifreeze in your car, etc” ETC and I’m thinking , hey, I’m vegan because I don’t eat meat or other animal products, and I’m JUST getting started. I need more time to learn and replace my household products with those that don’t contain any animal products or test on animals…
But for now, I’m starting out by not consuming any animal products (and have even started to switch beauty products to vegan ones)…but my friends keep telling me “it’s all or nothing!”
It’s almost like they don’t want me to be able to say I’m vegan…I’m not getting this hostility…??? I really don’t even care about labels; it’s not about being able to call myself a vegan. It’s about the conscious choices I’m making to make a difference in the world…and that’s what I told them, but they’re still like “You’re only vegetarian”
This is really annoying to me. Am I still a vegan even though EVERY SINGLE ASPECT of my life isn’t 100% “vegan”?

Question:
Vegan baked cookies..
Vegan baked cake..
Vegan baked chicken..
Vegan soy milk..
Vegan cooked veggies..
Why? How many of you actually eat REAL FOOD? My day begins with green barley grass in the morning, then I have superfood snacks throughout the day… my favorites are spirulina goji berry rolls. Then I have a large raw salad in the afternoon sprinkled with some crushed nuts or seeds, and my day usually ends with some “junk food” such as a fruit salad.
Now I am not attacking any vegan here. I just read through what the average vegan eats and hardly any recipe calls for large leafy salads… !

Question:
Or is that against their philosophy of killing animals.
