“way of living which seeks to exclude – as far as is possible and practical – all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose”

“In the second version, a disclaimer about practicality has been inserted,”

Does anyone know what year that disclaimer was added?

SST—if everybody did that there’d be no questions here to answer. Of course I don’t expect anyone to step up with an answer actually, unless somebody like Mr. Meat does it or something.
krister—I never quote the second part because it doesn’t excuse the first part. I guess why it was added is open for interpretation since using a sampling of you and I, there are already 2 different interpretations.

Honestly, for me the definition of veganism is difficult to grasp (surprise!). It’s probably not surprising to yourself though that my methods have a specific intent. When you ask a sensitive question or make an unpopular assertion, you can get an answer or a reaction that comes from deep down. I’m not a fragile sort where some words will hurt me so I can dig for the answers where others might not tread. “Lighting short fuses” has several benefits. I learn what people feel deep down through spirited interaction. I learn about myself as to how comfortable or not I feel with being the “bad guy”.

You yourself have changed the way you deal with me. It’s not gone unnoticed. I respect you. But I didn’t always.

I don’t know. Maybe you think I’m full of shit. LOL
That’s all probably between you and me since I don’t expect anyone else to answer :-)
Is this your first child you’re expecting?
“way of living which excludes all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, the animal kingdom”—this is pretty obvious. Excludes. It’s cut and dried.
bel—I’m not caring about the definition itself and it’s application anymore. I simply am hoping to find the date that it happened. To me it’s a missing piece to a puzzle I’m trying to understand. In my recent posts I have conceded that vegans are vegans up to a point. Is that correct? You try to do what you can up to a point. I think that’s what you’ve all been saying.
Thanks for the input!

Question:
When you first turned vegetarian/vegan how did you find it? Where your family supportive and did your body like the new change?

I find this sort of thing very interesting so please answer! : )

Question:
So this is my 3rd kitten-related post. I’m working in Bulgaria until next year and I would like to feed my kitten raw foods, however there aren’t supplements in my small town. I doubt there are supplements even in the big cities here. I have access to chicken hearts, livers, breasts, ground beef, chicken wings, sliced pork, processed pork/beef mix (like kofte), sausages, and obviously eggs and dairy. He was a Bulgarian orphaned kitten who has been raised on mother’s milk so far I think.

My question is this: can I raise Tabs (his name) to optimal health with a raw food diets that doesn’t include the supplements that are always present in the BARF recipes? I don’t think asking for Taurine or Omega-3 fatty acids from my local vet will accomplish much.

Raw and natural is the way to go and I’d think just the meat would help Tabs develop the way he was meant to, but what’s the deal with the supplements? I trust REAL and WHOLE foods more than some corporations processed garbage loaded with carbs, I don’t care who it is.

I’ve created this channel for anyone who wants OUT of TRYING TO LOSE WEIGH! If you’re like me, you’ve tried them all – saw great results, but failed to maintain. Well, there is a way out and eating is maintaining. Welcome to the RAW FOOD DIET. If you’ve never heard of it, it is a…
