Question:
Hi everyone. I’m thinking more and more about the possibility of giving up meat and going vegetarian. I don’t want to go full vegan to the extreme, because I’d still like to keep things such as dairy in my diet, but I think that right now I am in a more prepared place in my life to give a vegetarian lifestyle a serious try. I’m not sure how it will go, so I’d like to hear any lessons or experiences anyone is willing to share. Also, I like to cook, and since meat was such a big part of my diet, most of my cooking just includes adding vegetables along to meat, or else steaming some veggies (I don’t like eat raw much, I prefer lightly-cooked vegetables), so I don’t know much about cooking vegan style. Does anyone know where I can find some easy beginner recipes using ingredients that you can easily find in the supermarket?

By the way, I live in Australia, so Aussie-specific vegetarian recipes would be great since I know Australian stores won’t have the exact same stuff American/other stores do.

Thanks for any help.

Question:
I’m trying to go vegan, but my mom isn’t being very supportive. I’m eating lots of whole grains, beans and nuts, fruits and vegetables and that’s all. My mom agreed to buy soy milk for my coffee, but she thinks that only people who can afford to buy the fancy Whole Foods processed stuff can be vegan. I’ve been a vegetarian for years, and processed meat substitutes are something I hardly ever eat.
But dairy substitutes are on the vegan food pyramid. Considering the fact that most of the world doesn’t eat dairy so it really shouldn’t be on even the normal pyramid, why is it considered a necessary food group for vegans? Can’t I just take a multivitamin with calcium, B12, and iron? What would I need to eat to replace the lost fat/calories since I can’t afford soy yogurt or cheese?
Question:
I am a vegetarian right now, and my parents are pretty supportive of it. They buy me meat free stuff, like meatless hot dogs, veggie burgers, tofu, and other vegetarian food. I am very thankful for that, but I want to go vegan. My parents are not supportive of veganism at all. They think it’s bad for my health (since I’m only 13 and need my protein and stuff) and they also think it will be impossible to find food without milk or eggs. How do I convince my parents that veganism isn’t bad? What are things I can do to stay healthy? And where can I get vegan food?

xD

THANK YOU!!!!

Question:
My doctor recently reccomended I go on the ‘south beach diet’, and I purchaced some books and read them through.
However, I need vegan alternatives to the meals, if anyone can reccomend a website, cookbook, recipes, or seomthign tehy did.

I am a steadfast vegitarian, and due to cystic acne I am prohibited by my doctor and dermatologist form eating ANY sort of dairy, no milk, milk proudcts, cheese, yogurt you name it. No soy either, only eggs.

Dopes anyone have meal plans for phase 1, or recipes, or links they can share? I really need help and the doctor I’m with is out of town for the next month due to a wedding.
