Question:
I’ve been vegan for about 2 months and used to take Tylenol PM on a pretty regular basis. Can anyone tell me a vegan substitution, organic substitute that can help me fall asleep on those restless nights? THANKS!!!
Question:
I have just recently became a vegan after being a vegetarian and I am eating a lot of soy nuts and things like that but I know I need calcium and other things that I was getting when I was just a vegetarian is their any supplements I can get at the store for vegans or do I have to order them online?
Oh and if a vegan (since I’m new at this) is there anything I should watch out for that would be animal products?
Question:
So this is my 3rd kitten-related post. I’m working in Bulgaria until next year and I would like to feed my kitten raw foods, however there aren’t supplements in my small town. I doubt there are supplements even in the big cities here. I have access to chicken hearts, livers, breasts, ground beef, chicken wings, sliced pork, processed pork/beef mix (like kofte), sausages, and obviously eggs and dairy. He was a Bulgarian orphaned kitten who has been raised on mother’s milk so far I think.
My question is this: can I raise Tabs (his name) to optimal health with a raw food diets that doesn’t include the supplements that are always present in the BARF recipes? I don’t think asking for Taurine or Omega-3 fatty acids from my local vet will accomplish much.
Raw and natural is the way to go and I’d think just the meat would help Tabs develop the way he was meant to, but what’s the deal with the supplements? I trust REAL and WHOLE foods more than some corporations processed garbage loaded with carbs, I don’t care who it is.
Question:
I love the idea of raw food for my pets. However, I am really confused about adding nutrients to their food.
The main core idea behind the raw food regimens for pets is that the raw food is what they would have eaten in the wild.
Why then, do all of the recipes call for added nutrients like Taurine, Psyllum and Vitamin B?
If they are supposed to get all their nutrients from the wild and you are giving them raw food that is organic, is there really a need for these supplements?
Thanks!
Just thought I’d add – I am referring to the diets that come preground. Bones, fat, and all. Many recipes call for the ground meat and the supplements at the same time as well as other ingredients such as eggs, salt and water.
Some places want you to put plants in there too, while others say that cats are unable to digest the cellulose in plants.
I’m mostly worried about over supplementation. For example I think it’s Vitamin B, that in too high doses can be bad for your bet because it doesn’t pass through the system like other Vitamins ( like vitamin C passes through the system)

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Unfortunately so many of the traditional breakfast foods are not Vegan. Luckily there are some very creative recipes to help you out. Here is a favorite one in my household.

I’ve found that this recipe gives the best consistency and taste I’ve come across when it comes to vegan potato salad. It’s the perfect side dish for some many different meals. The recipe is kind of a play it ear with the portions, but you’ll get the feel once you start putting it together.
Here is an easy vegan recipe for your cookbooks. These are delicious oatmeal bars that are perfect for a quick breakfast or snack throughout the day. You can definitely add fruit and nuts to them for extra nutrition and flavor. Enjoy!
