Goin All Veggies

Two meat-loving students from Australia and France are challenged to eat vegan food for two weeks and record their experiences.

Question:
I’m a meat eater who is slowly transitioning into being a veggie. I’m probably going to remain an ovo-lacto. (That means I eat milk products and eggs for those that don’t know, some veggies are even use the term pesco-vegetarian – which means they eat fish… )

I figured I could probably find a menu online or a book, but I’d really like to get a real world picture of what the average vegetarian eats everyday, and I thought it would be cool for everyone to see that sort of thing as a list online, to either be informed like me, or maybe just for existing vegetarians to get some fun menu ideas. Soooo…. Here’s what I’d like you to do…

1. State your type of vegetarianism. (Vegan, Ovo, Lacto, Pesco etc)
2. List a day of the week and what you had for each meal
(B for Breakfast, L-Lunch, S-Snack, D-Dinner, R-Dessert)
3. Do you consider yourself a HEALTHY vegetarian? Not overweight, underweight, or have health problems from not supplementing a vegan diet, etc

So, for a fictional example

Ovo-Lacto Vegetarian – Monday
———————————————
B – 2 Eggs, Orange Juice
L – Salad with Romaine, Green Peppers, Olives, and Vinaigrette
S – A handful of almonds
D – Yellow Rice and Beans, Broccoli
R – A piece of a chocolate bar
I’m quite healthy, I run a mile a day, do yoga 2 times a week, and strength train on fridays.

You can post multiple times if you’d like. I originally was going to ask people to post a week’s worth of what they ate – but I think that’s asking a bit much, and I don’t know how many people remember that well everything they ate for a week.

Try to be detailed… links to recipes is ok… I really want to get an idea of how the average vegetarian eats – so if you want to make 7 posts and give me a week long menu that would be great. As far as for picking the best answer, I’m going to look for well put together answers… and I’ve got some other criteria, but I don’t want to reveal it yet, because I want honest answers.

Thanks for sharing!
This stuff is great. Very helpful! I hope to get even more answers. It interesting to see all the different meal ideas and what people snack on too. I’m also surprised to see some of the differences in how Vegans eat, vs how ovo-lactos eat. Very cool… thanks!

Question:
Ok so ive been a veggie for a year now.
And im interested in going vegan.

… Im just wondering what the adjustments are… Are certain kinds of makeup allowed? Can i only wear a certain type of footwear? Etc.

Most importantly:
Also, could Vegans please give me a LONG list of things they eat / dont eat.

Cheers. x
