Tastes good, quick and easy! I go through at least one pouch per day because it’s just so easy (microwave for 90 seconds in pouch) and I can have all sorts of foods with it. Yes, making basmati rice using a good uncooked grain in a rice cooker or pot will taste better. But if you want something quick and easy and tasty this product is just fine. It’s also good that the pouch itself is microwaveable and the rice steams well in it.

I don’t think it’s fair to compare this to rice you fully cook, or rice you get at a good restaurant, etc. This is a convenience food, and it is excellent in that respect. This aromatic rice cooks evenly and I like the texture – a little sticky but not mushy. This is definitely a pantry staple in my hectic household.

I love this stuff! It’s so fast and easy, plus you can add whatever you want to it to give it different flavors. Most recently I’ve had it with butter, grated Myzithra cheese, and fresh parsley. I’ve also had it with olive oil, chopped onions and red peppers. It would also be great with beans. Like someone else said, I too bought this from Costco a couple of times just a few months ago (more recently than the other reviewer), but lately they haven’t had it, so I’ve purchased from Amazon. I’m very glad Amazon carries it.

As a single person I’ve gotten away from eating rice — a rice cooker makes too much at once. For this rice, you cut a 2-inch slit at the top of the bag, nuke it for 90 seconds, and serve it. The taste is great — I’ve always preferred basmati rice so it’s perfect for me. It’s a good side dish for 2-3 portions. I like to have one package with some butter, salt and pepper. Rice has never been this easy.

I am Asian, so I know my rice. This is one of the worse tasting rice I’ve ever had. It is quick, but it comes out of the microwave tasting like plastic. I’m going to try to return it or give the other 11 bags away. Stay away!!!
