Always having people ask you “Why?” you’re vegan, then feeling like you have to defend your lifestyle. Meat eaters just don’t get it. They always feel like they’re superior and it pisses me off. I’m a better person because I don’t kill anything for my food.

I’ve had similar situations! I went vegetarian when I was 6 and had people tell me that it was one thing to say I stopped eating meat for the taste, but they wouldn’t respect my decisions if I said it was for the animals, because animals were put there to be eaten.
But it is really the less obvious things that get to me most. The little nudges and rude questions. The complete lack of compassion…
