1. That philosophy is severely flawed. The world is already overpopulated with livestock to support human demand. Human demand drives this overpopulation. If human demand drops, the need for that many farmed animals drops. Farm animals are already in captivity, and population could be easily controlled in the unlikely event that all humans suddenly stopped eating animals. Many are already castrated and insemination is artificial to control breeding and maintain desirable traits, control meat quality, reduce aggressive behavior of males . Don’t you think animals already in captivity could have their population easily controlled? It’s dumb to believe otherwise. Even if that was not the case, people do not eat many other species of animals. Those animals aren’t taking over your house. Are they? People have wrongly made the opposite argument also– that farm animals would become extinct because they cannot survive on their own. The thought that they would be allowed to become extinct is also untrue. There are many caring animal lovers in the world.
2. try Tom’s of Maine toothpaste.
3. if u have no choice but to use medication that has been tested on animals, which all medicine is, of course you use the medicine. You make all efforts to avoid it wherever practical or possible. More important is to be against this practice and work for changes. Support modern testing technology without the use of animals.
4. biggest challenge is eating out with other people, and learning what a lot of the mystery ingredients in food are.

Well, for philosophy, it’s a TERRIBLE argument!!!! I was reading the argument, and the fact that we in-pregnant cows, that’s why there are so many. I don’t really see (or heard) an overpopulation other than deer and humans!

Philosophy… the world would be over populated with what? the animals? no. we don’t hunt cows. if we all stopped eating meat in one day.. then sure there would be a lot of free roaming cattle. but the animals are raised for meat consumption and dairy and so on. developing countries would die out if they didn’t eat animals (b/c they wouldnt have much nutritious agriculture), which i believe would NOT be a good thing. they eat meat as a form of survival. but if the developed countries stopped eating meat, we would be fine.
products – j/a/s/o/n products(deoderant, shampoo, body wash), freeman (shampoo), toms natural products (toothpaste, soap). .. thats like all i know. i am vegan and those are the products i use.
makeup is tough. revlon doesn’t test on animals, nor does neutrogena but they still contain animal products like stomach acid. I use the Body Shops products that I bought before going vegan and im not sure if they are vegan, i should check. but some of their products contain beeswax..so those wouldnt be.
questions: vegans don’t use items tested on animals or containing animal ingredients… however i have continued ot use my tresemme shampoo because i bought an industrial size and have short hair… even though they contain animal products and apparently test on animals (which i thought they didnt). and now use Freemans papaya shampoo. some makeup that i have like Mary Kay eyeliner, i continue to use b/c i am poor and my mom bought it a while ago and didn’t like it. however now knowing if i need any products, i make sure they are vegan.
my biggest problem is finding non animal products. but mostly i missed not having processed sweets, like donuts, or cakes, or milk chocolate. (because they contain eggs or milk). but after about .. a good month i stopped craving them and no longer find them too tempting.
its worth it.
mostly just do your best, because even if you are vegan and avoid all animal foods, and 99% products, you are making a hell of a difference so if you can’t find alternatives, or don’t realize until after you have purchased it just make a note of it and try not to let it happen again. but don’t throw the towel in over one, or several tiny mistakes.

as a vegan of 34 years……………
philosophy, that’s bs. matter of fact philosophy in general is bs.
products, no such thing, mass produced? it’s got some form of animal product in it.. learn about processing in mass production dear.
personal question, no such thing as a vegan actually, it’s impossible. the fact that i’m a vegan using a computer is a hypocricy.
challenge? what? not eating GARBAGE is a challenge? explain this to me.. i’m sitting and waiting for this!
