Question:
I’m 17 and I’ve been vegan since I was 12. I’m 17 weeks pregnant now. I know a vegan diet is perfectly fine during pregnancy and my OB/GYN is a vegetarian (I had no idea when I started seeing her) and is totally supportive of me being vegan.
Was anyone else a pregnant vegan teen? Or does anyone know someone who was?
I’m just wondering :)
Zoer — are you blind? I addressed what you said in my question.

  1. Just make sure you are getting enough vitamins and supplements for both you and your unborn child. You want to make sure your child is as healthy as possible and they need a wide supply of nutrients that they may not get on a vegan diet.

Make sure to take daily doses of prenatal vitamins. The only thing I’m not sure is, is if these are vegan friendly. B12 is essential for the body and can only be received via animal by-products…hmm…

Might want to talk to your OB about this one.

  2. I’m seventeen years old and vegan, but I’ve never been pregnant. Good luck to you, and tell anyone who judges you to go shove it up their a**. :)

  3. I’ve never been pregnant but I AM a vegan teen and I suppose if I got pregnant in the next four years I would be a pregnant vegan teen lol.
    Good luck!
