Question:
the communist atheist vegan terrorist democrats who are destroying our nation right now, from the top down? seriously like the whole fields of ethics and phl. of mind and epistemology and other completely useless ideas don’t matter when there are MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO TAKE CARE OF FIRST.

  1. Maybe they care because the fanatical religious right-wing hypocrite Republicans aren’t very good at philosophizing, so it’s a great way to tee them off.

Annoy a Republican, read a book and think for yourself.

  2. Jackpock, I agree completely. I was beginning to think everyone cared about only materialistic pursuits. Thanks for the refreshing reminder.

  3. I dont understand how you think those things are completely useless.

AND HOW , MAY I ASK, ARE VEGANS DESTROYING OUR NATION? AND ATHEISTS?

  4. Philosophy is an expansion of the mind and can be filled with self growth. I spend time thinking about philosophical issues because it allows me learn more about who I am, thus able to better effect my world.

I think the fact that you listed groups that are “destroying” our nation is a clear indicator of why some philosophical self-growth might be good for you. Besides, fighting for or against either of those causes is only going to cause you pain and suffering.

But I digress because I would argue that figuring out yourself is more important than any of the “more important things” you claim need to be done. With the attitude of “RAR GO TAKE CARE OF THIS STUFF” you will not find the truth and be lost in the game of politics and social construction and continue to believe certain things matter that do not.

I leave you with the quote (and the full awareness that you most likely NOT pick me for best answer because I don’t agree with you): “If you want the truth to stand clear before you, never be for or against. The struggle between ‘for’ and ‘against’ is the mind’s worst disease.” -僧璨 (Seng-ts’an)

  5. You’re right, it’s like, 11:30PM and I forgot to do my laundry. And I was sitting here thinking of solipsism. Thanks for snapping me back to reality.

  6. My dear, may I point out that you just stated yours.
